Big Al Carson

A native New Orleanean, Alton "Big Al" Carson began his musical studies in the
New Orleans school system and continued his formal training at Xavier
University of New Orleans.
"Big Al", as he is known in music circles, began his professional career as a tuba
player with great groups, such as Doc Paulin's Dixieland Brass Band, Herman-
Sherman's Young Tuxedo Brass Band, Dejan's Olympia Brass Band, and Teddy
Riley's Royal Brass Band.
