Cajun Country
One of the nicest and most interesting road trips Louisiana has to offer is along the Old
Spanish Trail. This route was established in the mid 1920's, it links the east and west
coasts across the entire length of the southern United States. In Louisiana the trail is off
the beaten path and meanders along Highway 90, also known as Cajun Country.
The trail is about 150 miles long and offers adventure, fun, food, and music, along
with a healthy dose of Cajun history and culture.
You can explore historic sights, see wildlife in its natural habitats and taste the
delicious local cuisine. Dance all night to Cajun and Zydeco music, or look into a most
fascinating and complex ecosystems in the entire nation.
